⌈ CHARACTER SECTION ⌉

Character: Sakura Kinomoto
Age: 12
Canon: Cardcaptor Sakura
Canon Point: The beginning of Clear Card, just before she sleeps and her cards turn transparant.

Background: Here

Personality: Sakura is a very sweet, kind, and cheerful young girl. She's quite energetic and athletic, and she has a very warm and trustworthy attitude towards those around her. Because of this, she's generally very friendly to anyone she meets and her caring personality often wins over even those who are grumpy and mean towards her. Her optimism tends to bring out the best in those people. And it's this optimistic, friendly quality that earns her quite a few friendships throughout the series and the series itself focuses on those relationships she has with her friends, although the focus is with her budding feelings with Syaoran Li. She really enjoys making friends and making her friends happy as well, and is often even protective of them, especially when she was capturing/transforming the cards. Speaking of which, the capturing/transforming of the cards often showcased not just her athletic ability but that she's often a quick thinker. While she often had help from Kero and her friends when capturing or transforming the cards, she would also figure things out on the fly when needed, whether it be a plan to take down a card for capture or figuring out that attacking is not a good idea and, instead, befriending the card would work much better (See: Fly Card).

Although, one does have to note that she can have a rather vicious temper, usually seen due to her brother's relentless teasing. He often calls her a monster and makes fun when she wakes up late, which causes Sakura to lash out at him by either yelling at him or stomping on his foot. She doesn't show this often, mostly because she is a genuinely caring individual, but it does show that she isn't always so cute and carefree. Her brother is also the reason she is severely afraid of ghosts, as he has the ability to see them but he would often make up what they look like, scaring Sakura. However, her fears aren't always in the supernatural. Because she loves her friends and family so much, she's often afraid of losing them. She may have a temper around Toya, but she loves him as she does her father. Her mother died when she was very young, but she also very much loves her mother and often says good morning to her picture before breakfast. Her family is a big part of her life and one of the main reasons she is the way she is. She wouldn't be Sakura without the kindness of her father, the cheerfulness (and clumsiness) from her mother, and the protectiveness from Toya (even if she doesn't see it at first).

This is actually one of the reasons she continues on to being a cardcaptor and, eventually, the mistress of the cards. She was pushed into the role unwillingly, as Kero was the one who made her a cardcaptor without her really knowing what it was, but as the cards begin to wreak havoc in Tomoeda, and potentially harm her friends and family, she finds the determination and bravery to continue on, eventually succeeding and becoming the new mistress of the cards.

Sakura can also sometimes be pretty dense and clueless, gullible as well and would often believe the stories her friends (particularly Yamazaki, who is known to tell tall tales... and Sakura believes every one of them). This cluelessness tends to be mostly related to herself or with things about her, such as her growing feelings for Syaoran in the beginning or the fact that Tomoyo Daidouji, her best friend, is in love with her (to be fair, Tomoyo never confesses, but she has hinted it and Sakura never catches on in the series). But she has her perceptive moments, it just also tends to be in relation to others. Again, she is very caring and kind and enjoys making her friends happy. So while she's on the lookout for others, she tends to overlook herself.

Overall, Sakura's gentle nature tends to attract even the most stubborn of individuals to being her friend (Syaoran always antagonized her in the beginning, but she often would react with kindness), and despite her responsibilities as Mistress of the Cards, she is often always seen as carefree and kind. Optimistic almost to a fault and protective to her friends. And those friends even include the Sakura cards themselves, who reciprocate that love as well as the Guardian Beasts of the Seal, Kero (Keroberos) and Yue, both of whom have come to care for their new Mistress deeply, although the latter took some time to be drawn in as he was very much dedicate to the previous Master, Clow Reed. But just like Sakura did with Syaoran, she remained kind and gentle to him and earned his trust and loyalty in return.

She's the heart of the cards!!

Abilities: Has the ability to seal the Clow Cards (vol 1-6) and then to turn those Clow Cards into Sakura Cards (vol 7-12). Along with releasing said cards to use their power depending on which card is used.

Has prophetic dreams (has dreams of the future and past) and is said to have the ability to see the future, although she's never done this consciously as of yet in the series.

She also able to sense magic around her, usually when it's a card but her ability to sense magic in general is also growing just like power of her star.

Alignment: Daimonia, as Sakura is generally a very happy and joyful person despite the hardships she endures while collecting and changing the Clow Cards. "Everything will surely be alright" is her motto.

Other: She will arrive with the Book of Sakura, the Sakura cards, and her Key.
